Alex Attia: Biography and Expertise

Alex  Attia is a hospitality executive with over 30 years of experience in hotel management as well as retail and office project development. He has overseen several respected properties, including The Jefferson Hotel  in Washington, DC, which was recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the world’s best hotels under his leadership. Most recently, he served for over two decades as General Manager of The Charles Hotel, an independent luxury hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and now continues to contribute as a Senior Advisor.


Throughout his career, Alex has built a reputation for delivering service excellence, understanding customer needs, leading high-performing teams, and creating welcoming environments. His leadership is grounded in  building meaningful, personal connections, which he brings to all aspects of his work.

Attia worked with Omni Hotels and Sheraton Hotels,as well as an independent property in Chicago, before joining Loews Hotels in 1993. A native of Tunisia, he was educated at the University of Villetaneuse in Paris and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1981. He is fluent in French and Arabic."
